Hi all

I have spent the last 24 hours (ish) searching the forum for an answer and can't find any post on this issue. (Of course I may have missed it)

Two days ago I took my rear view mirror apart to replace stock ambient light which was no longer working, with an LED.

It took 10mins and works like a dream, although I think it needs to be a bit more diffused so may lightly sand it or just put a little Vaseline on it.

Anyhow, since I removed the mirror, it seems to be stuck in dark mode. Day and night. The mirror went 'dark' the minute I unplugged it and now won't 'clear'.

Anyone have similar issue or any ideas?

Take it apart again and look for that loose wire.

What and where did you get to replace the lamp?

I replaced it with a standard LED (incl resistor)

Although now I'm feeling like a bit of a tit. I just covered the front sensor and the mirror went darker as did the wing mirror. Uncovered it and both lightened up. Now I can't remember if the RVM was always blue/green or if it used to go completely clear.

Sorry if I'm wasting everyone's time :?

It is because the clocks went back and it got dark earlier.

that looks a little dark still compared to mine but only by a small margin,

I wonder if you have to fit it in a certain light, so when you plug it in it thinks its at the highest brightness if that makes sense?
