I recently purchased c270 cdi auto and found that although accelerated reasonably well, it would not peak past 80? with plenty of throttle left. Didnt appear to be any 'spluttering' but just went flat. Has anyone any suggestions as to what's holding it back.

Could be anything and without getting it on STAR to have a look at some fault codes its impossible to guess exactly. Could be a MAF issue, inlet manifold, turbo boost, air leak, the list could go on.

Where are you? We maybe able to recommend someone to help.

It might be in limp mode - does kickdown work?

C270 80mph in top equates to 3K RPM - had the same problem just after I bought my 2001 C270 S203. Also I had no kickdown. New MAF (under warranty!!) cured the problem.
