I would be asking MB, assuming the original lasted from 1989. MEYLE, thats the cheopo from ECP. By all means try ECP but get the more expensive brands

Have you tried MB themselves. Also look at the MB reman parts site, dealers dont tell you about it as is undercuts them. Its MB remanufactured parts with the same warrantty. You may get lucky!

I sent off an email to Lookers Wolverhampton one in the list that do reman parts .
Interesting to hear what sort of response you get. I shall ask my chum in Deutschland if there's a similar scheme there.

Just been to a German site and that refers you to dealers. Hopeless.

Done ..ordered SKF i read that SKF bearings are used in the mercedes pumps ,,so work is in the pipe line, thats if i am able to start and finish it . This will be the second pump i have fitted .Was going to sell it due to my health and other problems,, and now wife is getting worse .I have to do more and more in house . So unable to do them both .Plus i only go to the show with it not used for anything else .And thats stopped due to Kung Flu.

Having done the job before, I guess you know about the bolts holding the pump and how they are a pain?

If they are hex external rather than hex internal head, SnapOn tool FLXM13 makes it much easier :)

The front are internal hex and rears are external outside -bolts. Main problem was getting a torque wrench on them after and this could be the problem with the old pump .Not that it faied inside,, but could be the seat on the engine side and i wont know that till i jump in there .
