I’m looking to buy the above. Preferably all makes, but Mercedes specific would be ok.
I’m will to spend a reasonable amount of money.
But it looks a minefield of choice.

Cheers

Icarsoft MB 2

Does the job, can update through website. Has specifics for MB but also generic OBD for other makes.

Just be careful where you buy it as there are some fakes around. Recommend buying off the iCarsoft website.

Cheers

The most commonly used one by folks on here is the iCarsoft MB-II or its successor the V2. This is MB specific bud can read generic OBD-II codes as well and can also perform some actions on the car such as steering angle calibrations etc (varies by model).
iCarsoft also do a multi manufacturer model but that will compromise on what it can read on MBs.
There are also offerings from Autel, Launch, Foxwe

I've an MBii V2 but continually use Torque on my HU. But can be used on any Andriod device.
It has limitations but still has purpose. It costs £4 ish for the EML327 unit, nowt for the Torque 'Free' version. Maybe try that and see what more you feel you need.

Torque will only read basic engine ECU data. It cannot read other modules like TCU, ESP, ABS, SRS etc.

Uk parts direct are indeed the official Uk outlet and extremely helpful in their support.. unlike some other ‘retailers’ who sell clones

A little more pricey but..

Foxwell NT644 Pro works very well on every car I have tried it on so far.

MB, Renault, Ford, Audi

Good level of detail on each of the systems.

Bought from the same place as in the link above.
