Having a bit of a clear out and still got the original 1987 Bosch alternator I took out of the W124 1yr and a half ago. As I bought aftermarket they didn't want the original but I'm told the original Bosch ones are used for refurbishment and as it's heavy (a lot heavier than replacement) and there's no rust/loose play in it's bearings etc I don't want to throw it away as I'd be guessing it's good for rewiring and refurb.

As I'm off to UK this week is there a company you can drop stuff like this where it is recylced/re-used? Unlikely, but if it's of use to anyone on here in North London/Hertfordshire it can obviously be collected for free.
