red/ green flashey light things

hi, just found this site so thought id give it a go!! can anyone help, ive just bought a c230 1996 komp, first merc ive owned! love car but 2nite when locked it using remote the green / red lights on door/rearview mirror flashed 4 30 secs, im sure that b4 just green came on when opening and red when locking. ??? checked manual and it says that this happens when remote batteries are goin?? but they are new?? car starts ok etc, can anyone put me straight as i know nothing about mercs, thanks spencer.

sure will senior member buddy! only prob is i no nothing about mercs or any car come to think of it! got an uncle whos a top spanner geeza, he reckons that you can discon battery, leave it 30 mins or so and everything resets?? il try that in morn then if not il take it to the pros as used to spending money on cars now so its like the norm, keep you posted!!!

problem solved

went drayton mercedes this morn, explained problem to the helpfull service guy, he said its definetly batteries in both fobs. i said carnt be as both new, he says where from, i said a market??? 10 seconds later hes put new batts in and everythings happy days, also they were cheaper from merc than the market. morale of this story seems to be everyone knows main dealers are dear, but can be helpfull and know there stuff when it comes to mercs!!!!

The £ signs obviously flashed up in the traders eyes in the market when he saw the Mercedes keys Mercedes dealers aren’t that bad for some things price wise and other things they must get there price from a phone book as they are expensive.;)
