Had this Sl500 2002 approx. 6 months and bought it with a warning fault :battery red warning, visit workshop: Had a stars checkout by WDM Birmingham who said buy the car has it is nothing to worry about.

Replaced both batteries original merc batteries, and replaced the battery relay K57.

The red battery visit workshop is still on. Should this not automatically go off or do I need to have it taken off ?

I am at a loss now, what should I be doing now or checking ?

The car seems fine, I am just fed up from the red sign popping up everytime I start the car!

Some one please help me.

What did the STAR test say was the fault ?

Or didn't they tell you , instead just saying buy the car.

Take it back to WDM and ask them whats wrong. There shouldnt be a red warning without something significant being wrong.

If you ignore it then you wont know if something else goes wrong.

Did you connect the batteries in the right sequence, disconnect boot (consumer) battery, then disconnect starter battery, replace starter battery & reconnect both leads, then replace/reconnect consumer battery, if not disconnect it all give it 10 mins then reconnect in correct sequence, worth a go........:D
