Reflective Number Plate sprays:

I was idly watching one of those Police Camera Action type shows when they had a car on which had a plate which looked normal to the naked eye, but burned out the image when photographed. (It worked too, from the TV image).
The cops did him anyway.

These spray's can be expensive, they don't all work. All sites say that it is legal to buy and sell, but it is illegal to use. READ CAREFULLY.

Apparently, it's clear nail varnish in spray form....and I say apparently! I've never tried it, but it's supposed to leave quite a distinctive haze on the plate, which I'm led to believe makes it easy for the Police to spot! Apparently!

I was always led to believe you get the same effect by spraying hair spray on the number plate. never put it to the test though.

There is a chap called Blair selling some of the stuff (at a price).
However, if the cops in the car with the video unit can't record the plate, they will give you the points and fine anyway for having an illegible plate.

I've thought about fitting schooshers to spray my plate when neccessary. A little bit of very soapy water will help no end!
