S500 (W222) 2014. Turbo 4.7 V8 with loads of toys. Superfast luxury.
My wheels were suffering from blistering lacquer and some kerb rash. Just had them refurbished and changed the silver and diamond cut with Anthracite and diamond cut. Also replaced the old blue centre caps with black ones.
Ups the appearance of the whole car.

I didn't think of a pic before but going for the darker colour to contrast with the diamond cut faces is much better. Also new centre caps for £10 on fleabay finish it off.

I’ve done 17,000 miles from new and teh paint is blstering on my wheels. How long do you expect the refurbishment to last?

I had my wheels done last year like the ones pictured in the first post.
5 months and less than 1000 miles later, and there is under lacquer corrosion around the small holes near the centre.

Needless to say, I wish I'd just gone powder coat for a lot let money. This was the second diamond cut, so they can't have another one, and like in E500 Pete's photo, the detail around the rim is staring to be 'cut out' due to the cut depth.

Also like on the photos shown here, it looks like the cut wasn't exactly parallel with the rim face, so there is variation in the rim appearance at the boundary between diamond cut and darker powder coat.

Depends how many stone chips get in the lacquer to let water under it so the marbling starts again, could be a month, could be 2 years BUT it will happen

Not stone chips - the corrosion is growing out from the edge where the centre cap fits on all wheels.

The reason the centre cap area is common is because it's quite a sharp angle, so one thin clear top coat doesn't provide much protection.

The decorative holes on my alloys where it's starting is also a 'sharp edge'. If I had known about this, I could have rounded them off slightly with a burr grinder before getting them redone. It's a terrible design flaw.
