could you blame her ,with the attitude she experienced
Yeah but who agrees verbally to do this and that to a vehicle after its been purchased? Would you accept the car still needing, allegedly, the items and valeting mentioned?

Is it a bad salesman? Has she gone to the dealer and asked to speak to management?

What attitude? She joined on Monday, posted a rant at 10am, was last seen logged in at 12pm on Monday and hasn’t been back since. She’s experienced no attitude from the people here.

If anything she has displayed pigging awful attitude. Who are we, to her? Is it our fault that she had some bad experience buying a used car? If not, why come and rant at us, can we fix it? No. Of course we can’t.

I've lost track of how many times I've said it before but, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 is quite powerful.
There's every possibility the OP has left it too late and, not done the correct thing, for it to come to their aid now.

Terms and conditions cannot overwrite statute.

This exactly. Car dealers conveniently ignore consumer legislation. When confronted with a situation like the OP's It's always worth having a close look at the CRA as it applies to vehicles sold commercially. Sorry I just don't believe that dealers aren't unaware of problems with cars they flog sometimes. Once driven off the forecourt it becomes someone else's problem.

I had some problems with my CLS when I bought it. Well, after actually.
Whilst cleaning and polishing it I found the n/s mirror casing was chipped underneath and looked like it could fall out.
I contacted Norwich MB and they agreed to pay for it to be fixed locally.
I then found out that instead of doing the promised B service they had only done the A.
Another call to Norwich and they agreed to pay the difference in cost on the next service.
I then discovered that all the Pirelli tyres on it were perishing quite badly. Another phone call and they replaced all four tyres.

I have no complaints at all, only praise.

But if it was a genuine, Approved Used Mercedes, should not all of that have been done properly before the handover?

Of course you are correct but I must bear some responsibilty. The tyres especially. The treads were around 5-6 mm but I failed to spot the walls cracking. That won't happen again but I just wanted to illustrate that some after sales services are excellent.

Which just goes to show that "Approved Used" can be pretty meaningless and should be treated like any other used car purchase.

MB Norwich seem to have a good reputation for sorting problems judging by what others have said.

Malcolm (AKA Television) didn’t have a single good word for MB Norwich although my Son in Law uses them with no problem’s as far as I am aware :)

Unfortunately this behaviour is too commonplace these days and is not just confined to the motor trade. What these parasites on humanity rely on is that even if you are in the right you will just go away and repair at your own expense to avoid the hassle.

Two years ago I spent many thousands of pounds having my kitchen upgraded only to find some months later that there were several items I listed as snags that needed rectifying. In the end, at my own expense, they were rectified by others after my total exasperation with the original company.

Point being that life is too short but if you take these companies on legally, be possibly prepared for the long haul and considerable expense.

She joined, typed a massive rant, hung about for two hours then left. None of which was going to solve any sort of a problem for her!
Helpful responsive and not necessary. Not a rant either

Of course I went to the dealer- I just got the runaround. I didn’t post this to get a response along the lines of I’m making this up. Merely to seek advice from other MB owners. Clearly some people who have sent unnecessary and frankly negative replies have too much time on their hands. I don’t have the time to sit on a media forum all day so it a little unfair for some forum members to say that.

You live and learn

I agree the OP is unlikely to post again, but do we have to mock someone who has had a bad experience with an MB dealer?

I suspect most of us have been lied to by car salesmen, it’s not funny when it happens to you!
Thankyou Richard

Believe it or not I always start that way. But once I get impression I am getting the run around, the hair on neck comes up and I morph into something completely different once that happens, no goin back.

The OM654 does have problems namely excessive engine camshaft valve gear wear on higher mileage cars and as you’ve found out having a ridiculous tandem pump for oil and vacuum fitted in the sump but you can consider yourself unlucky with either fault in such a low mileage example. The car is covered by the MB 12 month all inclusive warranty so they will repair the car and return it to you and on the upside you have been supplied with courtesy cars.

My son owns a W213 220d and has covered 65k miles in it and absolutely loves the car but I’ve advised him to keep the extended warranty up while he owns it as MB have unfortunately designed in some expensive failures should they happen. Keep the faith living with the car is much better than you think and you did the right thing buying through a franchise they do have the best cars
