Hi, thinking of getting my w209 clk 220d remapped, does anyone know of anyone who does this down in west Sussex or surrounding area? Be even better if you have actually had it done somewhere you can recommend.

Infact has anyone had a remap done by a company called black code? There seems to be a lot of them about offering a mobile service.

I have used black code ONCE and never again, poor service had to go back 3 times to get my car sorted the engine went into limp mode a good three times.

Then I had a call stating the company had gone bust. Never a good thing.

Visited GAD to sort the whole thing out,Not as cheap but 100 % Perfect and no issues.

The moral of the story pay peanuts get monkeys

Had the guy round from Black Code, was there about 2 hours did the business, opted for an economy remap and a more responsive acceleration through the gears etc. Went for a test drive and the car felt alot better, and then later on went on the 100 miles journey to work and its so much more economical. Getting just over 10mpg more out of it, also has more power that you can really feel.

I am very pleased, guy was friendly and looked as though he knew what he was doing. Cost me £250

brim to bruuuum

So I take it a brim to brim test is how many miles you get from one fill to the next!

So I filled up the other day and got 63L in the tank, then drove 645miles until the small diagram of the pump and the car came up in the center of the dial (this was a good while after the yellow fuel light came on) so I take it that I was just in the 7-8 litres of reserve fuel that all Mercs have, or so I was told.
Then I filled it up again and managed to squeeze in 63L although the pump did click off at about 55l but I spent ages squeeeeezing in 63l. I did this method before my remap as well a few months ago and got about 560 miles out of a tank under exactly the same journey speed and driving conditions. So conclusion is that I am getting a much better fuel economy!:D
