Ok thanks that makes sense. So really increasing these lower power plants to much higher is not much of an issue. I suppose this is why many mappers will only increase mine to around 19%, because it is already hitting the safety limits for that engine?[/
So Hybrid tuning have taken a VW Transporter from 102bhp/250nm to 175/360nm. Either that engine was down-tuned or it will eat through engines parts in a short while?

Is that a 1.9 Pumpe Duese TDi engine? Those sound like the upper & lower standard production figures, and the upper one to max stage 1 remap is around 10-15bhp IIRC. Anything beyond that you’re looking at hardware not just software.

I'm not sure really. I just assumed it was the low end 105bhp version that was fitted to the slowest VW's?

Probably, it sounds about right.

More likely that you're at the limits of the capability of the turbo to produce any more boost, or you've reached the limit of the stock fuel system, than the safety limit of the actual engine. Whereas the 105bhp VAG "may" be fitted with the same turbo and fuel system as the higher power versions, like say the 150bhp, which would make sense that it could be mapped to 175bhp.

Darn, that £7.99 included the fitting service too, your right, the original was fitted 3mm higher.

DMS automotive, for my 2011E class coupe 350 cdi
They quoted me £495+vat
They come to you anywhere, with quoted gains , mines the 265bhp model, so
265bhp to 312bhp and
457lbft to 527lbft,
3 years warranty. Only slight drawback, if your bothered no rolling road figures unless you go to them.

Seems quite steep for a generic map of the ECU. I was quoted £300 all in for something similar.

i thought the thing about the e coupe/cab was that they had to take the ecu out, which is behind one of the wings, around 2 hours labour to get it out and put it back. Probably need to add that onto the price of your superchips map.
