remote locking & light

Hi all just got call from my son CE230 1990 remote locking not working Central locking not working but can lock doors with key & boot lock & petrol cap lock not working at all. he gets new CD player for xmes from mum & dad. dad tells him he will get it put in for him when he come home son has it put in by sum body at work & inside back reading light will not go off calls dad asks dad if he will put on forum dad tells son to become a member no answer from son dad puts on forum

Hi Fozzy, who ever installed it has cut/joined into the wrong cable, it must be removed and connected to the cigar lighter cable, and that will give Key 1 operation.
