Remote not working

I have a CLK240 ( 2003 ) and the remote key is not working from a distance , it appears the I/R signal is OK as it opens if you point the key close to the drivers door . I checked No8 fuse in the boot and found it blown , on replacing it blew again where is this Antenna amplifier module that controls it ! , can it be unplugged to test if its the module or the wiring thats causing it .

Hello and welcome, it should just be the amp, pull the plug out and replace the fuse and you will have the answer

Thanks for the info and the diagram , now I know the area where the amp is I just have to work out how to get to it ,The radio is working perfect , I think I'll book it in to MB and hope its not too expensive to fix.

Yes the fuse 8 covers the rear window antenna module.

I can check to see if I have any work sheets on this
