I noticed, when washing the car yesterday, a pesky little spider has managed to get behind the n/side headlight cover and woven a web. :(
Seems he got what was coming to him as he looks to have been cooked, probably by the headlights, but he's been left hanging there amid a big fluffy web.
Any ideas how difficult a job it might be to remove the cover so I can clean it out please?

That looks like an expensive lamp unit !.
Removal of the entire lamp unit and inspection of the way the glass is attached will give some clues.
My old SLK had moisture inside the glass and misting.
Removal showed the glass is held on the lamp by mastic, which if carefully prised gently away the glass came off the lamp housing, cleaning off the old mastic and using fish tank clear glass adhesive mastic reassembly after cleaning was very successful and watertight

Hmmm, thanks fellas. Think I might leave it a while to see if the web degrades on its own. Knowing my luck, I'd be sure to break something whilst trying to prise it apart.

Actually, now I think about it, I wonder if I can simply remove the headlight bulb and clean out the inside of the light unit from there???
Maybe I was over complicating things. I'll take a look tomorrow.

Exactly that's the best way , use one of those duster type things , the ones with the handle,,

be careful of the silver reflector. If yours is anything like that of my Vauxhall's, you'll only need to give it a hard Paddington stare and it'll come off.:shock:
