Ooooops,,,, I have a tiny ding in my rear bumper :(. Looks like someone got a bit too close when parking,,,, although it looks a sharper than just another bumper nudge.

I’m hoping to be able to push the ding out,,,, but have no idea how these new fangled bumper/skirts are fixed :Oops:.

The strip I’m talking about is just below the boot lip, is about 3” wide and wraps around the wings.

Is it easy to get off (& put back on again !) ? It looks like it might just be clipped in place, but I don’t want to start tugging at it until I get some expert advice – where you guys come in.

Is there a Haynes manual from previous models that I ought to get whilst waiting for a 211 one ? Or, like my previous models had to get TWO manuals,,, one for bodywork etc and one for mechanic work.

yes they do come out by just pushing on the curved end , and unclip.

I could post you the info if you had your email address in your profile

If it's a post 06 car the bumper is one piece and the inserts don't come out.

A better bet might be using a hot air gun (carefully!!) over the dent.

Thanks Dave: The car is a late 2007 - but it does seem that they do.

Thanks also Malcolm: received the pdf & will have a bash soon. The good old cornish weather is against me at the moment.

As usual, will put the results here for others.

Late W211 have one piece bumpers, the only parts you can remove are the thin chrome strips.

Make sure whatever instructions you've been given from WIZ apply to your model year of car.

well,,,,, now that i've had to have a proper look,,,, it seems that Dave is correct.
Neither front nor rear strips are removable on my vehicle (Nov 2007).

This leads me to adapt my O.P:
How easy is it to get the rear bumper off ?

I'd love 'em Malcolm. Ta in advance.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A couple of years ago I bought a WIZ DVD, but I couldn't get it to load. A friend of mine did get it to load whilst down on holiday,,,, unfortunately, he left it in it's original tongue - German,,,, so I can't run it.
Are you aware of these things ?
If so, any idea if I can still be translated to English,,,, or run in English,,,, or is it too late now it's done ?
Is it worth my getting another one, obviously later version,,,,
Dead easy,,, start it up from the short cut icon.
It will say continue only in German.click and the DC box will open, click that. You now have 3 boxes,,click on the bottom one, Admin, and then 3more options,,click the bottom one, and select English from the selection,,thats it
Speaking of WIS, where might I get a copy please? Thanks.
Ahhh,,, theres the rub.
You can (or could) get the cheap ones (copies) from auction sites,,,, though a lot of purists will be against this.
I'm not sure if Joe Public can actually buy a kosher one,,,,, if they can,,,, they are very expensive.
I couldn't get mine to load,,,, I tried dozens of times,,,, the seller was also helping (via e-mails),,,, but no way. I decided not to bother. Then my machine had to be 'looked at', so I asked my mate if he could try it at the same time.
He did get it loaded,,,, but I could never open/run it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was about to give it another bash,,,,, but it now looks as though i've already uninstalled it.

I think it only went up to the 124 series - so it looks like i'll be looking for a later version myself (any ideas out there please ?)

TV: As I havn't got the WIS now, would you be kind enough to send me pdf file as offered please ?
