Hi, I have a 300TD w123 manual model, which is tatty but the engine is mint. I also have just purchased a 200TE w123 auto which is very good and much better than my300TD.
I intend to fit the diesel engine from the manual 300TD into the 200TE auto.
I expect to have to replace from the donor 300Td the following :
the engine, exhaust. fuel tank, cold start system for glow plugs, possibly the gearbox bell housing ? Can anybody advise as to compatability or other issues that will definitely be required to carry out the change. i am just trying to get a beasty diesel auto ready for next summer. Also there will be plenty of bits up for grabs from the old 300TD 8)
