Hello,
I have been experiencing problems with a drained battery and had to jump start my car today using the procedure recommended in the manual. This is my own fault as I only use the car at the weekends and use the train for commuting.
However I noticed that my current battery (which is 5 years old) is a Bosch S5 (which provides 510 starting amps and 65 Amp/hours). I have enquired with my local Cost Co about a new Bosch battery and can provide me with the recommended Bosch S6 002 (which provides 850 starting amps and 95 Amp/hours) for £81, however before changing battery, I was wondering if anyone may confirm the following:
The car is fitted with an Audio10 CD/Radio made by Becker. The car manual nor Audio10 manual mentions a radio code being required upon changing the battery, only reseting the ESP and Side Windows. Would I require a radio code (I was not provided with this when I purchased the car)?
If I connect my car up using the jump start connecter under the bonnet to another car whilst carefully changing the battery in my car, would this keep the circuits in the car live and circumvent the need for a radio code and reseting the ESP and Side Windows?
I realise that I may have to begin using the car at least 2 days a week to commute aswell as at the weekend in order to keep the battery in good condition, however thought a new battery would not hurt either
Many Thanks in Advance,
John
