Hi. Just after some advice about replacing the wings on my clk w208. The wings are badly rusted and in my opinion are past repairing. I've considered buying new wings from MB but they are £240 each. Aftermarket ones are £170 but I'm concerned about the fitment of these or second hand are £105 from breakers. Any advice is very much appreciated or if anyone has any for sale that would be great. Thanks in advance,

In my experience the after market ones are more than good enough.

Kev w Second hand original wings will save you a few bucks . Aftermarket,,, i wont even go down that road ,,i have had 4 aftermarket , and after working on them ,.And not been happy i sold the things on . A cave man can make them better with a stone axe . I worked on large presses most of my working life .If my press shop had turned out wings and parts so bad as these aftermarket wings on ebay,,, the inspectors would have had them put right in the scrap bin .So thats the reason why i wont use them ever . My next step is new .Good original wings for my 124 are very hard to find in good condition.Might be more to choose from for your car .

My bodywork shop rates ECP platinum aftermarket parts highly. He said something about they guarantee the fit as well.

Mine, for a W210, were from ECP.

Might be worth trying Grangemouth MB, tell them you are a forum member and they ally a discount. Astonished me with the (low) cost of parts I've just bought.

Had one quote from mercedes it was £217 posted . So i am about to put up with the crying wallet and extract the cash and order one . I give up on secondhand . It should be easy for new cars .Replacment is easy if your car is only a few years old .

Just be aware that the indicator repeaters were originally in the wings then on later models on the door mirrors, so make sure you get the right ones.

The ones I've bought have the repeaters in so I'll have to get the body shop to fill them in before painting. Should be straight forward job?

S class
Not a lot wrong with the aftermarket ones, they are an excellent fit and the few that arent it takes very little fettling to get them spot on, but at £170 versus £240 id be looking at the Genuine wings.

This is the best way to go .Thats if the wings are in good supply .
Its what i did for the passengers side last year .
The whole car was on ebay selling as one item .After he was hit by a lorry on the drivers side .Thats how i ended up with my passengers side wing .Seller sold off parts in the end after a no sale. Picture 1 is the car i had the wing off .Picture 2 his passengers wing now fitted on to my car .It was like having the pools come up . $ttttt.JPG DSC03578.jpg
