Hi, I'm looking to change the lambda sensor, bank 1 sensor 1. I know sensor 1 is pre-cat, but how do I know which side bank 1 is on? I've not looked under the car yet, but if anyone has any images of the location that would be great.

Cheers

I would suggest you're non generic scanner has led you up a garden path with its description, there is an upstream and downstream and the upstream tends to be within the DPF. The common 02 sensor failure is downstream. Easy to locate and to swap over. The wiring and multiplug are clipped to the gearbox bell housing.

Make sure you fit a genuine or a bosch sensor. Anything else tends to give a high resistance reading and brings on the EML.

Great, thanks. Ordered a bosch sensor yesterday, I'm sure it will make sense once I get the car up and have a look.

Ok, that was really easy to replace, £98 for the part and 20 mins :D. Whilst I was under the car I did spot a connector next to the lambda sensor connector with nothing plugged in

Any one have any idea what this is ? car is running normally now with no fault codes, but seems a bit strange.
