thanks for that bigastonuk, i will consider the aftermarket sensors, but i want front aswell and id like to use the oem console switch to enable/disable them

I have ordered that software so will begin to make parts lists when it arrives. in the meantime i guess im going to have to find some VIN numbers, I will created a new thread for this

Yes the site also does front sets and there should be no reason why you could,nt use the standard switch with an aftermarket kit.
Regarding the front kit the only problem would be getting a speed signal to turn them on and off as they only operate (when switched on) below a set speed between 5-10 mph.
I will post the site when I get home tonight.

I was lurking and waiting optimistically, but everybody's gone.
What was the site and where do you get the speed signal from?

Removing bumper inserts ? W203

Done most of the above, Merc were pretty good on reto-fit, even tell us how on wis, mind you, saying that, yours is turning out a bit of a pain Andy!!!

Unrelated member to above : New query W203 est. : I cannot find how to remove - what appears to be the horizontal plastic insert that runs around the rear bumper, without risking paint on the actual bumper face ? There doesn't seem to be an obvious leverage point ?

I'm told these are available pre coloured to cover scrapes etc , so it must be possible ? All I want to do is fit in rear parking sensors : but I don't want to end up with a bumper respray too ?
It was a doddle on my last E39 B'mer
Many thanx

Can you assist ? Ta
