Has anyone done this and is it possible to fit the 3rd row of rear facing kids seats into an estate as an after factory extra? how do you add the extra seat belt anchor points in the headlining?

any experience gratefully taken before the birth of next sprog!

If it's a W124 the seatbelt mounting points are on every car. The retrofit is relatively easy but the n/s belt reel will generate lots of **%$£@!! as you fit it

yes.

a firm called luxury7 (google it) can do it for you.....but if you get the stuff from a scrap car i suspect its easy to fit yourself, but as Bolide says may be a lot of hassle.

on a W211 it would also depend on whether you have the auto boot floor....

I did this. I had to cut holes in the carpet and headlinging to find seatbelt mouting holes. You also have to remove a fair bit of trim. I nearly gave up putting the seatbelt in the passenger side. It was a complete pain in the rear but brute force did it. I now have 2 dimples on the rear wing though and I think the paint was damaged :(

Still it was worth it!

Sorry this was a W124

thanks, for the advice, have been trying luxury7 but no reply as yet. Like all these things I think it may turn out to be a bit more involved especially the seat belts.

will post a reply as how I get on, otherwise will have to try and buy a factory 7 seater!

ideally you'll need to replace the existing trim for the seatbelts for the factory look, but i guess you could cut holes in your existing trim.

I have the seats to fit also but would love some advice before I start like are the seat belt fixing points in the car already? 210, it would bea shame to spend hours removing trim to find no holes to bolt to also I need the bolts etc to fit the seats.
Also i would love to see some close up pics of the factory fitting points for the seats if anybody has any?
