I can see that there have been previous discussions about this, but I can't see any reply that is confident about the location of the rev counter sensor? The R/C failed after some faltering and I dont know if that is some thing wrong inthe cluster , or if it is the sensor. Any help appreciated- Where is the sensor on this model?? many thanks! :(

The sensor counts teeth on the flywheel.

Part 451

If the sensor failed, you would also find that idle speed control would be less smooth, and the EGR would no longer be working correctly. The signal for the tacho doesn't come straight from the sensor, it is actually provided by the idle speed & EGR controller.

This controller is powered by the OVP.

The best I can do is to send you the 124 tach retro fit and I have emailed it to you, it shows where everything is

The rev counter is only a meter movement, that could be at fault
