Does anyone know if it is possible to have a reversing camera fitted to a 2006 E class with COMAND? If so any idea of cost?

Read my lips ........... Dixons ....... Panasonic waterproof cam (HD) ....... 4 inch 12v TV ............. Gaffer tape ......... wire through the boot, and round your trims ............ Pritt stick the monitor on your dash (above Command) ............ Sorted ....... £300 ish

Thanks for the email.
This is a project we are currently working on. As you probably know the reversing camera option is available with the ML/GL and R class cars so we can obtain the necessary components easily. However, the Comand unit must have a video input connection on it and also be capable of being coded to recognise the reversing signal. So far we have not found an E class unit capable of this, only ML units. Sadly the pre model year 2009 comand units for the E class do not seem to have a video input unless the car has TV!
So, the short answer for the E class at present is no I'm afarid. Sorry.
