He was on telly this morning, hard to tell his age, but at a guess I'd say between 75 & 80, around the age when most people usually give up driving or move to something smaller and easier to park.

So to me it looks like, "I've been a company exec for the last 50 years, driven or been chauffered in every luxury vehicle you could name, but now I want something smaller, so you should all give up your nice cars like I did."

And NO, before anyone asks, I'm not having a bad day!

So we all believe in heaven, but no one wants to die, right ?? I sense a catch 22 there ......

However, the one thing I agree with Red Ken about is taxing those ridiculous 4x4s monsters off our roads. By roads, I mean specifically roads in London.

Every Range Rover and Cayenne should be towed to the local crusher until the owners realise that they (a) do not have right-of-way by default in every road situation, and (b) learn to drive next to a line of parked cars slightly closer than the 4 feet they seem to think they need. If only Boris would ban them as well .....

I don't think we all have to believe in heaven. It's just that we in Europe are constantly hammered to get emissions down while other countries (USA, China, India, etc) are continually pumping all sorts of cr@p into the atmosphere without much opposition.

When everybody gets online to it then I don't mind being squeezed.

It's like a fat bird telling me to lose weight if you catch my drift.

Wouldnt it be easier if everything we earn just went straight to Gay Gordons corrupt cronies and they then give back what we need to live, bit like taxation in reverse!!.

Not a 4x4, Jez ... but secretly you knew that already ..... !

I reserve special venom for the outrageously oversized tanks that are the Range Rover, Cayenne, and Q7.

You'll be pleased to know that conventional 4x4s (including your rather lovely M-class) escape my wrath .....

Some don't believe in heaven, at least i can vouch for Helen and myself, but if someone does then they must also believe in hell.

My guess is thats the more likely destination (if any) and if we're all heading in that direction then I'm going to go with my foot, flat to the floor and and both bikes strapped on the sides.

I had to laugh when the Lib Dems announced that they wanted all petrol cars off the road by 2045. (no, not a quarter to nine).

i didn't think there was that much fuel left! Weren't we supposed to run out long before then?

i can feel a long rant coming on, so maybe some Friday scotch will settle me down.

Back in the early '80's we were going to run out of oil by 1990... then 1995... then 2000 and every 5 years another 10 years supply was found. Hasn't changed much, has it? Just more suckers believe the spin.
