Word on the grapevine is they can afford to pay the staff either despite advertiseing for new ones at their new home down there in cornwall....

Makes ya wonder,ya phone up for a refund on returned parts only to get an ear full off the guy at the other end saying he hasnt got paid either.

sorry for the rant but they owe me fair few quid for a caliper they sent for my 320.:twisted::twisted:

They have just moved to a new place so they cannot be hard up,, A county court judgment is is cheap and simple

They probably tried to match the part number on that bootleg ruski site.

I been waiting 3 weeks now...

pricks they are i get"can you phone back later" or "the boss is not here"

twice now.."the woman in accounts is not here today"

"sorry our card machine does not do refunds"

I give up so you lot best not bother with them.

Too much hassle.I went for a new part and fitted it myself in the end.The garage bill while my car was waiting was something else......

Golden rule - always, ALWAYS buy things that you don't consume immediately with a credit card. Holidays, online items, telephone purchases, everything.
I've had 3 or 4 refunds totalling several thousand pounds over the years from credit card companies. Ok, I may have got most of it back conventionally eventually but in one case it made the difference between my family immediatley booking another summer holiday and probably waiting 6+ months for the wheels to turn. On a couple of occasions, the simple threat of referring them to the credit card company was enough to force an unhelpful retailer to play ball.
Dangerous things credit cards but equally extremely useful.

True enough.
Id stay well clear of them lot.

Ive been to my local dealer and they have been exellent.Fitted the part myself sorted.

My advice is dont rely on others matching part numbers and get the part in your hand before you pay.I got this service at the dealers and was charged but not ripped off with time wasted.There is alot to be said for go local.

If you have purchased something on your card & it there is a valid dispute (didn't arrive, wrong item etc) then call your card co & they will issue a "chargeback" request on the seller. He then gets a letter that gives him very little time - usually about 3 days to dispute / justify the charge & if he doesn't the money is taken out of his bank (/overdraft) & credited back to your card.

My company sells items every day by taking card payments & we get one of these letters every few months - in all cases from people who didn't match the company name with the product they ordered, so every chargeback has been successfully defended once it has been explained to the confused & bewildered punter that we are the people from whom they bought the item.

The card co always gives priority to the person who has bought whatever it was.

" - at a guess you didn't do that with the original place instead over the phone / email which raises the possibility that fault for supplying the wrong part might not all be on one side of the table

Just readdressing the balance of this post by the fact that I myself have used Mercman for many many years both in Southampton and in Cornwall Incidently they have been operating from Cornwall for over two years now to my knowledge, i have always found them to very helpfull also extremely knowledgable, they would have no need to use the Russian EPC as they have both the official online versions of both WIS and EPC, everything i have ordered from them has arrived quickly and well packed, and would reccommend them to anyone and still would.
If you were sent the wrong bit i can only suggest that you gave them the wrong info at some point though i can,t comment further as i don,t know the full story.
But my experience of this buisness would tell me this is more likely to lack of communication rather than anything else.
