hi guys i took my w129 300 sl for an mot today and she sailed through with flying colours even though she is now 19 but when i left the mot bay i turned a sharp corner only to find that my roll bar popped up when i turned a corner quite tightly. it has never done this before today although i know is supposed to pop up if the car flips but has never popped up going round a tight corner. has the fact that the car was up on all four axles maybe affected the roll bar sensors or something??? i now have to hold the roll bar button on the dash up until i hear a small click and then i can retract it again. any advice welcome please :D

I have heard of this before,, the sensor or sensor are on the rear axle on early cars.. Once you have held the switch for 10 secs in both the up and down mode while in key 2 it should lock and hold

Maybe you lifted a rear wheel . Its supposed to do this if you lift a rear wheel , such as over ethusiastic cornering I've done it twice on mine but have never had to reset it (FIRST TIME WAS DELIBERATE TO SEE IF IT WORKED.)

You have one level switch on each side of the axle on your car, later versions have one in the center, late cars it has moved to under the rear seat

I can send you a couple of papers if you would like them

Then an axle sensor must be replaced
