Hi, new to this forum. Just bought a 2006 C220CDI estate which is very comfortable and reasonably quick and economic.

What i don't know is what the speaker type satelite is in the centre of the roof lining. Any ideas?

I've got a late 2004 (facelift) C Class estate so I assume it's the same but I can't visualise what you mean.

At the front of the roof there's the usual interior light / map light etc assembly.

Over the rear seats are the rear interior lights - in mine they're flush with the roof but models with rear parking sensors have the distance display built in so the assembly is altogether bigger.

The assembly is dead centre of the roof/ It has what looks like two small speakers pointing towards the front.

I guess its a movement sensor as the aother posts advise?

yes - thats what it is, plus possibly a temp sensor for the climate system.
The E has a rather cool trick where the sensor decends from this unit when you lock it and pops back up when you unlock - Had the car 2 years and never knew it was there!.
