Hi guys, newby with a problem. I have just bought a 2012 e220 convertible, at the garage whist testing the car, the roof went down and up once as it was too wet to do it more. I travelled 3 hours home and after a brew and sarni, I went out again and the roof would not lower. The windows all open but then the rear glass window does not raise to allow the cover lid to open, no message on the dash. Then after a couple of hours and trying maybe 5-6 times it suddenly worked, but only the once. Same thing again where the rear window does not raise. Anyone any ideas as It's a long drive back to the garage

Welcome :)

Loads of micro-switches to fail or get wet. Talk to the garage that sold it and see what they say. They may have someone closer who could look at it for you.

There will probably be a fault code stored in the car with a diagnostic machine .
But as above , it could be expensive. Talk to the seller .

didn't get a chance to ring the dealer today because of busy work . I don't mind doing the work myself, but I've not had any dealings with a folding roof before. Thanks anyway chaps

Numerous sensors, hydraulic struts , oil , pump ,wiring . Could be anything . I paid £60 for a single sensor on the CLK . Some of the sensors for my 2009 are no longer available new .
Hence the return to dealer ??
Good luck buddy
