I have a set of rucha alloy wheels on a 4 year old 211 E220 estate which are beginning to corrode, some badly so. The main dealer has declined and so has MB under the warranty, as outside the original 3 years.
Has anyone else experienced the same and if so,is it better to refurbish or seek another set? Also interested to hear from anyone with sub 4 year old 211 and 47k miles whether other alloy designs corrode less than mine.

I would just get them professionally re-furbished and sprayed in silver.

It seems most modern wheels corrode - especially with the current obsession with diamond polished faces. If you're lucky you can get them replaced under warranty, but as you've found out there's a cut-off point.

Not as bad as Japanese wheels - their paint just falls off it seems.

If you do get them refurbished then ask for a colour match as most will go with a standard powdercoat in silver without a topcoat to match.
