Russian site

I remember seeing a link on here for the Russian site where you can input your VIN number and see the spec of your car when it was manufactured, is there such a site for BMW? A friend of mine is looking to buy one and wants to check the spec etc

As my Russian is not so hot I tried that, and played a little, and I found a headlamp unit on an E46 how I do not know

Yes I think you would definetly need a good translation site.
I have used Yahoo's Babel Fish which seems quite good.

If you are using firefox then you have to scroll down to access the pages, and the only ones that open are after BM in the selected pages

thanks Malcolm yes i am using FF i might try IE i had the home page and my SL page as a fave and could get onto all car models before but today nothing on either links

i am playing with the SL again today we had have a wee problem with the drivers window at full up well it goes klunkity klunk and does not go full up after stripping the door it looks like the rack is missing a tooth or 1/2 a tooth at the full up position - got the door stripped easy peasy but dont want to remove the window drive mech until i can see what parts i can replace as it is almost impossible to see the drive cam with the teeth well at the top part of the cam looking at the bottom part is easy as it swings past one of the big holes in the inner door structure sods law again i suppose.

now you take it easy with the whisky at the bells now as i may have a few questions for you tomorrow

It opens for me from the link here.

This problem did come up a bit back.

Open the windows explorer David and try that the chances are that the setting in your Dial up are not allowing things,,you could re set them to theír defaults

Thanks Malcolm BUT are you sure you are seeing the live site and not just looking at pages cached locally on your PC?

I have a fast BB connection and all other sites are working fine including obviously this one but not the Russian site

Yes,agree.I don't have any cached pages on my browser,just tried it again and went to Lexus-something I've not looked at before,worked fine.Regarding the Cyrillic thing, if I want any info. from the Russian site,I've just Googled it,and clicked 'translate this site'.

Still cant get on the RU site must be a Scottish thing for sure none of my PC's can see it on IE or FF of course it might be my ISP's (O2) server that is not holding a copy of the RU site and the site is actually down whereas your guys ISP's are holding a copy of this site.

Just called my son (Orange) and he cant see it but my sister can (Pipex) so i guess it is an ISP server cache issue and the parent/hosting site is down.
