Morning all
Quick update on my situation with the rusty rear arches on my 2005 C class Saloon
After a couple of inspections and a few weeks of waiting MB have approved the repairs.:D
She goes in on Monday for a week and they are arranging to loan me a car for the duration.
I am pleased to have resolved this thus far, considering I only have owned the car since August and the last service (with original owner) was with an Indy I had thought I may have to enter battle to get this resolved but not so!
Here's hoping I get a decent job done and she comes back looking all the better!:D

He should have had his drive tarmaced instead of those loose stones. Although they make a nice crunchy drive, they cause havoc with paint work:)

That can be a problem with a ½ mile long private gravel path leading to the house ;):D

It is only a joke,,please excuse us,, when you have a long gravel driveway, and you drive at speed on it, the stones can knock all of the paint off

No worries Malcolm :D
Thought I was being thick as usual....;)
Cars in Monday so hopefully I can get the situation sorted, they are supposed to be emailing me with the details of the car they are loaning me as I need to get it insured!

Hope it's not one of those smart things!

I had rust repaired under warranty a couple of years ago on my W220. The service book had been stamped by myself for the duration of my ownership and M-B were more than happy to repair the rust. Two new front wings and rear arches repaired.

I was also told a week, but it took 3 weeks so be prepared

A rusty '05 car? Not good! :(

Getting it sorted by MB FOC, good result! :)

Watching hawk20 amend his 'Rust, the rules' thread, priceless.

On a more serious note, once it's all sorted it may be a good time to offload the car and get something else. I was going to say newer but I thought MB had a grip on their paint issues post '04. Seems not.

I guess you could say that. If my knees ever straighten again! :D

Wouldn't mind but the thing was given to me running on fumes, not a drop of juice in the tank.
Still it's been a while since I stuck £10 of unleaded in a car and seen the fuel gauge go up so much

Think I have convinced Mrs C that this will be easy for her to park for a few days! Have to be in Cardiff tomorrow so no chance I would drive that far in this thing .

Now I just hope they do a decent job of the paintwork and I get her back soon!

Your welcome to come and have it anytime your passing chaps !!!
Lots of dents dings and scuffs, no wheel trims, an attractive looking beast it is not!
and I don't fit in it!:(
Wifey says its ok, although you can't tell when it needs the gear changing as the noise is the same whatever speed!
Made me laugh! :)

Sorry but I am not a small car fan, the idea of getting involved in an accident in one of those worries me, so defo not for the run I did yesterday 300+ miles. Think I would have needed extracting from the drivers seat with a crow bar :p

And yes I know I am not very green, I prefer a nice V8 ;)

How about a Ford KA with a V8 shoehorned into it? Not sure where you'd sit though. :D
