Rust

My W202 is starting to suffer badly from rust. It's 11 years old. Whilst the rust has been evident for a bit it's now got alot worse. The passanger door bottom corner next to the pilar is particularly bad with rust on the inside and the outside. The drivers door is going the same.
My question is what should I do as I can't afford to buy new. With prices dropping it's probably worth £2k at most with 141k on clock sport siver auto C250TD.
Should I leave it?
Get it touched up?
Or get it probably done at body shop, but then is it worth it due to age and it' s gonna come back, plus is this throwing good money after bad.
Rust aside I've had no issues apart wear and tear

the w202 is a great car but......... some do rust, mine is rusting on both front doors and the front wings and boot lid keyhole... but i've gone from caring to not caring any more

its the most reliable car i've ever had and i love driving it, its NOT new (13 years) but i love it, and its a merc

who cares that its got a bit of rust, at least it doesnt need a supercomputer just to change a sparkplug

cheers

Can you get some good doors in the right colour from a breaker, or just clean off the surface rust and paint in to hold it at bay, it does not have to be a super job, just stop it from getting worse.

No point in wasting money in a body shop

I don't think the car's value is particularly relevant now.

Its more about how much the rust bothers you, how bad it's getting and whether you have the cash to sort it. I had an old ford. Not worth much financially but I knew it and had done a lot of work on it so to me it was worth more. So, every year or so it would get tarted up at a local body shop for £100-200 which would see it through until the next year. So I'd say, if you're not bothered, leave it. If you care, get it sorted.
