Rusting bumpers on my 500 sel

I have just bought a very original W126 500 sel 1992 and the front and rear bumper chrome is knackerd:!: .I have tried my local MB dealer but he is quoting about £600 for the new chrome pieces,which I think is silly Is it possible to re-chrome these parts P.S does anybody know where I can buy a cheap petrol tanker to tow behind my car?????Bob

You have "The Complete Automoblist" on your door step, they do re chroming, cheaper still, go to "Bakers" Sandown Rd Watford. Re fuel tank, block up the water drain hole in the boot and fill it.

Thanks for that Malcolm!Do you happen to have a phone number for "bakers"???? ?.........I was only joking about the petrol tanker because of the amount of fuel the car is using!!
