I’d check your VIN plate to see if it’s been homologated for towing first. Should be, but not all we’re depending upon body kit etc.

There are a couple of places that supply the towbars. The challenge is the wiring. It seems the only way to get it wired in properly is to see if MB will sell you the 13 pin kit.

All aftermarket places have to fit a bypass which in a modern car is not great. The gearbox won't know you are towing, the rear fogs will still come on, the rear parking sensors will still be active, bulb checking for the car may be confused, no bulb checking for the caravan, etc.

I have had a GDW towbar fitted to my S class, which is a 2015 model, ie preface lift. I presume that it will fit the post lift version as I doubt whether Mercedes would have changed the bumper mounting points? I also purchased a specific Mercedes wiring kit from Rameder in Belgium as Mercedes do not list one for my model. I was advised not to have it coded as it can leave a warning light on, which cannot be cancelled!! However, the electrics work fine, the bulb checking on the caravan works. I am not bothered about the fog lamps as I am unlikely to tow in fog!! Have not noticed any problem with the rear parking sensors, probably because I don't reverse very ofter. They can be switched off!! Coding instructions were included in the wiring kit.
