Hi,

Just looking for clues before I take the car back to the indi who did the regas 4 months ago.

Originally after buying the 2008 car in the winter I discovered the cooler not working during the first hot weather in the spring. The garage regassed the system and all has been working fine until this week when it is not cooling again.

Is this likely to be a slow leak somewhere in the system and how easy are these to find? Or is it possibly another fault?

Many thanks

4 months is a not so slow leak.
Condenser on the front most likely. Second, the shaft seal on the compressor. Hope it's not the evaporator in the dash.

When it was regased, I hope the indie put UV dye in, and if so, a UV lamp will help pinpoint the leak point.

An educated guess by an aircon specialist will be required regarding how much oil to put back in to replace oil loss through the leak hole, if you do have a leak.

If it's the condenser, you can usually see an oily patch on the condenser where the PAG oil has been leaking out. Have a look from under the car with a torch with the under trays off.

Thank you. Will do.
