Am going to replace the compressor, with a new unit from MB.
Seems pretty straight forward but have a question regarding the 10mm air hose connection.

I am presuming that the brass fitting in the new compressor stays in the body and that I just remove the blanking cap and push fit in the original 10mm hose; once it has been cleaned and squared off.. tia..

Exactly as you described, easy as that. Sounds weird, but I always wet the end of the pipe in my mouth before pushing it in. Probably just some perverse habit
Thank you, not sure that I will be able to get my head in the wheel arch these days….

Just to finish this thread off, compressor replaced along with the filter and new pipes either side of it.
I probably should have bought a new mounting kit too but the old one is fine.

The airline 10mm pipe was unscrewed from the old compressor. Move the brass nut up the airline, open the collet and they both come off. The end of the airline is already tapered so just needed a clean and a bit of spit to insert it into the new compressor fitting. A quick tug proved that it was in correctly.
All working as it should again.
