Hi all, the NSF coil spring has snapped on my 2007 S211 E280 CDI Sport. I spoke to my local dealer who told me I need to look for green and yellow coloured dots on the original spring to identify the correct replacement. Only problem is that on inspection the snapped spring looks like non-OE (as in pic), so therefore no coloured dots.
Looking at aftermarket supplier websites, it seems like a bit of a minefield to find the right ones, as nobody seems to list the Sport, only the Avantgarde with sports suspension. So due to this and the OE price being reasonable, I'd rather put it back on original spec parts.
Before I sit on hold with any more MB dealer parts counters I wanted to ask if anyone knows what the coloured dots mean so I can try to work out the correct ones for myself. I'm assuming as it's a Sport the spring length is 410mm, but I don't know for sure, and I also don't know the correct rate, load, etc.
I guess the important factors could be: OM642 engine with 7G gearbox, air suspension on rear only, factory 18" wheels and Sport spec.
Any help gratefully received.
Cheers, Jeff
