Your Mercedes
W210 E320 2001
Afternoon all,

I have taken off the original rear flex disc and ordered off Andrew Page a new disc, Febi 21199.

The bolts supplied are shorter than the originals, meaning that the round steel plate connected to driveshaft doesnt need to go back on. The original flex disc has spacers on four of the disc holes, maybe to offset it so it doesnt touch the disc. With the new shorter bolts the flex disc does fit but looks as if the disc would flex far too much without the round steel plate not refitted. So i refitted the round steel plate touching the disc. I have tried to warm up the offset spaces but no luck, just burnt the rubber instead. I will include a few pics of the original disc and the round steel plate.

Can anybody advise on whether the steel disc needs refitting ?

I spoke to Mercedes and the parts depot dont have the steel disc listed nor have come across it before. A few years ago I changed both flex discs on my E320 W210 and the rear had another flex rubber in in front of it and wasnt recognised by Merc.

My guess is that the two cars didnt need these in the first place

Kind regards
