Last night the air was quite dense and heavy, the exhaust always shows more under these conditions. down where i live one can get condensation on double glazed windows
Yes my 320 CDI also does it. Nothing to worry about so long as it is nothing excessive.
It should clear after a few seconds of heavy right foot syndrome
Yes check the egr as jib has said, also could have a slight blow past on an injector. really these cars shouldnt smoke .....also worth trying some injector cleaner thru the system, and using good quality fuel...
Part of the MOT is to do a smoke test on Diesel engines that gives numbers. You could ask a garage to do just that for you and compare against what the numbers should be for your car.
The engine management should keep the smoke down pretty low on these engines.
It may be worth have the injector seals replaced, a slightly leaking seal will cause smoking under extreme acceleration.. it is a cheap and a worthwhile maintenance exercise on any engine that has done over 100k miles in my opinion.....
Oh and dont forget to lubricate all the wiper joints..especially the double jointed one..they do wear and get noisy..
