Rear leveling rod mount breaks, connects to the rear arb. Very common.

Perhaps you get a box at the races with the work.

£450 is pretty much a Standard Repair Unit for S Class derivatives...
It was only a 350 though Craig!
And mine will only be £63.....(0r £55 if we’re being pedantic)

Sounds about right:

1 hour on STAR
1 hour labour
1 replacement rod
+ VAT

As an aside how do Mercedes manage to make their thermostats last exactly 70k miles, mine is struggling to get to 60c in this weather so will need replacing soon, nice little earner you might say

They also replaced the sensor £106 which it probably didn't need

So no mention of it needing two rear suspension units, wonder if they would have still fitted them?

Ok the saga goes on, in my opinion the rear ride height was too low after they replaced the sensor, so I got underneath it today and had a look at the sensor and rod, i was surprised to see the ARB bracket had been secured with a hose clip and not tightened very well so I guess the bracket had slipped a bit, so I adjusted it around the ARB and tightened it to where I think the ride height should be, now before I call the dealer and bollock them is this the normal way to secure the bracket to the roll bar?
