S500 door handle loose

has anyone tried taking all the trims off the inside of a door on this car ?
I have just bought a 96 model and the nearside door handle is a bit loose.
Any help/advice gratefully appreciated.

You have to cut the roof to gain maximum access to the door. Then remove the bonnet for no reason whatsoever. Or bring it me and I will ava look.

yes - i have...

remove large chrome trim plate on end of door. (3 then 3? screws on mine - its a coupe so might be slightly different. or you may not have it at all)

remove badge from about where your elbow goes. large phillips under it.

remove small clip in handle pocket area. large phillips under (vertical)

6" below handle, remove cap, large phillips under.

pull off triangle inside of wing mirror.

pop off door card, starting at bottom. top edge lifts off upwards.

handle is held on with a torx screw iirc. you MIGHT be able to do this without removing the door card. see this for a C class version
