Reserve is not met at £18500? I love the colour though...

Interesting post, the car is being sold at auction, so what you see, is what you get. No come back on the seller, and boy is that a car filled with technical gadgetry, you definitely pay's your money and take your chances. One heck of a gamble and good luck with that, if you can afford it, if the consumption is not an issue, then go for it.

If you are concerned about buying the thing without any type of warranty, then I would suggest you walk away. How does it compare with buying that model car from a dealership that offers a warranty?

Here we go

12mpg

Very nice,

the “here we go” relates to an S63 V8 and not the V12, so even less mpg.

All looks very lovely indeed and a well cared car, if you want it then go for it as long as you are happy with it

A car looking like a well cared car is not neccesarily such. Any used car can look good - after a thourough valet and detail.

Those wheels are hideous...!

But otherwise a very nice looking car. Not sure it is worth the £25,000 odd it is going for now though. Not for such an old car with no warranty.

Gosh! Up to £25K and still 'Reserve not met'? Don't worry, I have no intention of buying it - purely academic interest... Ah-hem.

My friend AFM / Alex Foti might enjoy looking after it for us though...

Depends if you need the space of the S class. It looks, well, grey to me ? I am colour blind so may be totally wrong on this. Just imagine that huge power and torque. What a beast. Zonda engine in an S class.

Now up to £30k???? Madness.
Yes 30k and no warranty? Even though a awesome beast its 13yrs old now so a very high risk and now too much asking for it? Just wonder what figure it will end at? My S500 is nearly 20yrs old and i know its not in the same league as this one but for age (6;yrs older) and price i paid £2700 full service history and no warranty it was a good buy

Why madness? A lot of older cars fetch much more than £30k and not just collector/vintage stuff. But still- bidding sight unseen I agree is one hell of a gamble.

I'd rather buy this far superior, and 4 years newer AMG S63 with 45K less miles. It's even in a better colour and has nicer wheels. Most importantly its from a garage, has a warranty, and is £2K less!

I don't think many older saloons fetch this kind of money. Just look at the W220's. It's usually coupe's that make the best investments.

Plenty of pictures and detail on this pampered Merc from the owner on the other forum

Even the under side is immaculate.
He probably has the original wheels too.

Yes and its a much nicer looking car. I can imagine a lot of people would prefer an original if its an investment, but as a car yo enjoy that looks much better.
