Was reading about this elsewhere, but then a possible "solution" appeared:

According to Mr. Moers (head of AMG), AMG has some high end customers who buy nothing but V12 cars, the announcement that they will not further develop the V12 means if you still want one they will make for you on a special order but it will fade away from the line up.

Seems an expensive way of doing thing but there are people who still want these cars and money may not be a problem to them. I actually want one myself, the difference is that money is a problem to me.

Seems like in 10 year's time there will be nothing bigger than a 3.0L engine

I too love my big engines. A V or W12 are on the bucket list but looks like they will kick the bucket before I am in the position to buy one (if ever!)

What will Pagani do now then? Or Aston? Has someone taken up production elsewhere?
Presume that’s what is mentioned above - ‘special’ order...also what will F1 Mike do with his time?

I am, sure they will continue to make them for Pagani.

Aston use the V8 Bi-Turbo, the V12 is the Cosworth built unit

I hear they are bringing back the "73" name with an electrified v8 to top the line up.

Didn't they had to use the 7G gearbox because the 9G couldn't take the torque from the V12. Also, performance is down on the S65 compared to the S63.

Yes they did.

The 65 is faster from 50-100+

The 63 is faster on the bottom end then slower after.

This makes for disappointing reading..

For the last number of years I have been wondering what will ultimately happen the high end of engines and I guess this is the unfortunate answer.

Im currently driving my first V configured engine and I love it..
