Hi thanks for the reply. I have no hazards, interior lights, hot air in fact the bottom dash board control panel doesn't work at all. I have replaced the panel to no avail.
On the 639 the under bonnet fuse enclosure is known for its weakness.
Resealing after being in there is critical, and far too easy to fail to do. In fact I had one that was badly distorted, due to heat I guess.
The drains too often direct rain from the screen onto it. The rubbers to direct otherwise can be missing, or badly placed. Then there is the drain at the rear of the bonnet area that blocks with leaves and crud.
If there has been ingress into the fuse enclosure the SAM is the 1st to suffer. I wouldn't try to dry it. The ECU and TCU (if auto) are in there too.
Personally I would source a SAM off ebay and replace. Contrary to common thinking they are plug and play, and not coded to the vehicle. You may need to amend settings via the dash menu.
If you eliminate some or all of your issues then it was the SAM.
If you introduce other issues the new SAM is also faulty, but can be returned at no cost to you.
I keep a spare SAM just to diagnose. Actually I have 2, one for my present 2014, and one from my earlier 639's. They are different, as post 2010 have DRL's.
Some of those plugs into the SAM, and fuse carrier, are flimsy and break easily. The worst is for the enclosure fan (in this country not critical).
