can any one tell me about the command system 2.0. i have been offered a unit for my mercedes ML, 2000 model , it just has a standard single disc player as part of the radio cd 10 , i have talked to merc about this and they have said that all the roof lining has to come down and extra wiring fitted to put this in as this merc did not come with a command system as standard by the way if i did buy this it would be second hand so are thier other things that have to be part of this unit for it to work .the command unit is a 163 these are the numbers that corrispond to the ML. any thoughts that any one has or experience to the thinking on this subject?

how do you go about fitting this unit to an ML .i ve post ed this once in the wrong section sorry every one i am what do you say daft? excuse me is it really difficult i will try any thing pretty handy believe it or not ,just need to know is this poss or is specialist detail only ?/

Its okay Toby,

I have merged the two posts together in one thread here, in electrical section.

Regarding what you need for the COMAND, An aeriel, wiring kit, fitting kit. up-to-date mapping software, and the uprated system software from 2002.

You will need to locate the nearest speed sensor wire. after fitting, you will need to syncronize the system up to the speed sensors

Remember if doing a search; it is 'COMAND' not 'COMMAND'.
