The doors need setting up correctly,, my CL140 was very bad,,it took me 2 hours to get it perfect and it can be done

on mine it seems to be coming from around the drivers door mirror

Interesting, I had to replace the one on my 140 coupe as it was out of shape and when the glass lifted it was fine till it got to the mirror housing and it then slowed down and the housing pushed the glass towards the back.

I checked the good side and then saw the the rubber / felt seal was split just in the mirror section, I replaced it and set the glass as per MB instruction and all perfect
