Hi all,

My sat nav (command) doesn't "turn down" the music when it's giving route guidance. I can't find any settings anywhere to do this!!

I keep missing information because the music is on.

Any help?

Hello and welcome.

A simple cure, when she talks to give you guidance turn up the volume to a good level, and all future announcements will be at that level.

Your also have a menu where you can adjust the balance

Don't think that will work - if I turn the volume up when she starts talking I'll deafen myself with the music!!

The problem is, when the music is playing and route guidance kicks in, the music volume doesnt turn down.

It does work and that is the cure, just turn it up when she speaks for that few seconds and then turn it down when she stops talking, future announcements will then come through at that higher level proportional to the music

With the COMAND-APS (DVD based system) there is a setting that adjusts the balance between music and nav guidance announcements.

It alows you to set by how much the audio source volume is reduced so you can hear the nav voice.

It's under the "Settings" menu / "Nav vol" soft key..

Hi Malcolm.

I don't know which version of COMAND I have, (W220 04/54) but the button to the left end of the row beneath the screen is the key. Set the radio volume to the level you want. When the Sat Nav comes on, press the button mentioned briefly (no need to hold it down) and then increase the volume. The volume for radio will default to where you set it when Satnav stops speaking, and that sets the differential between the 2.
