Up until a few months ago whenever I went to my car and it unlocked, keyless go, there would be a buzzing/whirring noise from under the bonnet. I presumed this was the SBC priming itself and from reading a quote by Alastair in another thread this would appear to have been correct?
"When you turn the key to ignition position do you get a buzzing noise.
Buzzing = SBC
No buzzing and you're good to go."
More recently however it's taken to doing it sometimes and not others, the car drives perfectly and there are no warning lights or error messages on the dash. I know the SBC unit was replaced by Mercedes prior to me buying the vehicle 2 1/2 years ago, the car has now covered 96,000 miles.
So the question is should this be a cause for concern or could it simply be something to do with the frequency with which I use or don't use the car as this does vary.

It will only prime if pressure is low and battery voltage is sufficient.
If it doesn't prime it could simply be the pressure in the reservoir is ok or its waiting an engine start to prime as voltage is low.
Once the engine starts you don't usually hear it.

So it would appear to be simply the frequency with which I use the car, thanks for that. :)

I personally would have some doubt, because was having similar noises when switching on and have just been told today mines gone,

What do you mean gone? What noises are you referring too?
