anyone know of a scrap yard where i can get a cat for my 1999 E320 avantarde tried all the usual internet scrapies

Hi,
I think you may have difficulty here, sourcing a second hand unit as the scrap yards normally remove them and sell them as I believe the scrap price for them is in the region of £100 each.
There was a speight of thefts occurring in the country as people were going out to their car in the morning and finding their CAT's had been stolen overnight due to this.
If it is one of the lower ones, you could try and remove it completely as I believe that the 320 V6 engine can pass the MOT emissions less the two lower CAT's, maybe someone else can confirm this.
